Dr. Kristin loves helping people feel their best. To her, there is no greater reward than watching someone move beyond the things that have held them back, and really begin to flourish. Dr. Kristin’s strengths as a doctor are that she listens carefully, is thorough with examination and coordination of care, and truly focuses on each person’s unique needs. When it comes to chiropractic adjustments, she is proficient in several different adjusting techniques from dynamic hands-on adjustments to very gentle low force techniques, which allows her to tailor her care to patient preferences and circumstances. In addition, she has advanced training in specialties to complement her care such as acupuncture, Graston soft-tissue mobilization, nutrition response testing, and more.
Dr. Kristin is a graduate of Northwestern College of Chiropractic and the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse. Just like you, Dr. Kristin understands the demands of balancing work-life and a family. In addition to her work as a chiropractor and small business owner, she is a wife, mother, and a member of a large extended family. She credits chiropractic care and its emphasis on a healthy lifestyle for helping her to find balance and stay focused on what matters to her the most.
Dr. Kristin is an adjunct clinical faculty member at Northwestern Health Sciences University and often hosts chiropractic interns during their final year of study. Fun fact: Dr. Kristin began her work in this clinic as an intern under the supervision of our former owner, Dr. Michelle Greenman. Understanding how essential a comprehensive internship is to developing good doctoring skills, she is passionate about teaching the future leaders of her profession. And our patient’s love it too… the enthusiasm and attentive care that interns bring into our work makes it an extra special place.
“My husband and I often tell our son that in our family, we are ‘helpers’. Connecting with our neighbors and working to improve the lives of others is important to us. What a blessing it is that I get to wake up everyday and do this work to create a healthier community.”—Dr. Kristin Johnson
Alison joined the Bass Lake Chiropractic team in September 2019 as Dr. Kristin’s Senior Chiropractic Intern. Alison is passionate about treating and working with women and specifically female teen athletes because these young women are at a transitional point in their lives while also putting high physical demands and stressors on the body. Alison prides herself in being a strong listener and putting the patient’s needs at the forefront of every clinical decision made. She also believes that patient education plays a crucial role in the recovery process and is always open to answer any questions regarding the patient’s health.
She utilizes many types of treatment styles that range from manual adjustments to very gentle techniques. This provides her the ability to individualize the patient’s treatment to specifically fit their needs which in turn, provides the patient with the best care possible. Alison is trained in Smart Tools soft tissue mobilization. She also uses manual muscle therapy, kinesiology taping, and other additional physiotherapy techniques in her treatments.
Alison has already completed several rounds of examination with the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and is on track to graduate with her doctoral degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University in April 2020. Alison is originally from Grafton, ND and attended the University of Minnesota Duluth where she completed her undergraduate degree and studied Exercise Science and Kinesiology. In her free time, Alison has recently become the host and author of a chiropractic and lifestyle blog, SheIsAligned.com. She also loves to read, be outdoors, try her hand at cooking/baking, and spend time with family and friends. Exploring the Twin Cities is a fun weekend past time as she is beginning to call Minnesota home.
